It's fun to know this painting is going to live on the other side of the world....
It's painted on wood and is bigger than most of my usual work- 24x24".
The bottom left corner is my favorite part of the whole painting-- what's yours?
Which of these do you like better? I'm having trouble deciding!

A giant box was delivered to my doorstep last week holding all my samples from Oopsy Daisy / Wheatpaste. I tore it open and threw all the packaging on the floor while my husband looked on amusedly (hoping I was going to clean up my mess afterwards, I'm sure), and then I proceeded to show him each and every one that I pulled out of the box.

They are so fabulous in person! Each canvas measures 24x24", so they're nice and big. I'm going to find some spots around my house to hang them to liven things up around here a bit. Our house could use it!

You can pick up one of these bad boys right here-- they're $139, which is a steal, considering that an original painting of mine this size would cost upwards of $800.
{You can also get them directly from Oopsy Daisy and Wheatpaste (sister companies) in both canvas and sticky poster form.}
The holidays are coming, and these would make lovely gifts for the art-lovers in your life, if I do say so myself! Wouldn't they look so dramatic and inviting sitting under a Christmas tree with a bow?

I'd love it, too, if you'd like to share this post with anyone you know who might love the stretched canvases-- you can tweet about it or facebook about it using the buttons below, or forward this email to a friend! Thanks!
I've got some original paintings for sale right now, which is a rare occurrence these days-- most of my paintings lately are destined for a specific place or show when I create them, so it's rare to have them around my studio these days!
But I happen to have these ones here now, so if you see one that's calling to you, scoop it up now-- I don't know when the next time I'll have originals in the shop will be!
You can click on each image to get details about that specific painting.
I had some fun spray painting mini pumpkins gold and copper this year. :) And I discovered they make fun props for photo shoots!
If you want one:
When these photos arrived in my inbox last week, I couldn't believe it. I had no idea the factory was going to send me in-process shots of my rain boots being made!

The whole time I've been working on getting my boots produced, I've wondered how they're actually made. What in the world does a rain boot factory look like?
Well, now I have a much better idea than I did before. I mean, isn't this so cool?! This is where my rain boots are actually being made!
Look at those racks of boots in the background! Amazing.
These are the ladies who are making my boots! I love that they're being made by hand. I wish I knew what they were talking about the whole time they worked on the boots. Do you think they were gossiping about guys? Talking about what they should eat for lunch? Bragging about their kids?

And here they are, sitting in their boxes with their little tags:

And this is what you'll see when you open the box of boots that arrives on your doorstep:

The best part about all of this: the boots are being shipped TODAY! Look at them all stacked up, ready to be packed into boxes and shipped off...
If you want to be one of the first people in the world to wear these Jessica Swift Rain Boots, now is the time to get yourself a pair!
- Yes, you deserve it. (Did I mention they have secret inner labels that will remind you that you are perfect and unique and amazing?)
- Yes, they are sturdy and durable and will last a long time-- you can wear them in the rain (duh) and the snow, with a nice thick pair of socks! You can wear them in your garden or on a farm.
- Yes, they will make a great gift for those unique, colorful, and creative people in your life.
- Yes, they are so so comfortable. They're great for walking around and living your busy life-- they'll keep you warm and dry and happy!
The boots are available to buy RIGHT HERE-- if you order them now, yours will be among the first to be shipped out and worn in the world. You can be a trend-setter and wear something that no one else has worn before! It's always fun when someone stops you on the street and asks "where did you get those shoes?", isn't it?
I worry a lot. I consistently over-commit myself, and then I panic that I have too much to do and I won't get it all done.
The funny thing is: I ALWAYS get everything done. And it usually doesn't take as long as I expected it to. And then I wonder why I spent so much time worrying about it, when I could have instead just trusted that I'd get it all done, just as I always do. My mind is such an odd thing.
So, I like this reminder today: I'm going to make it after all. Oh yes. Because I'm in one of those 'I have too many projects going on' modes right now, but I will get it all done, because I always do!
Can you relate? What are some tricks you have to ditch the worry and trust yourself?

I'm pretty much in love with this illustration of a band by Stine Kaasa, an artist in Norway. According to her website, she's opening an etsy shop soon and these folks are going to be in it, so they might just have to be mine. I can think of so many fun spots in my house for these fine folks!
Stine's work is quirky and amazing, don't you think?

It's alarming thinking about ghosts coming out of your ear, no?
Doesn't it make you want to look at the rest of her work? (Her website! Her blog!)

I went on a whirlwind 36-hour trip to Houston, Texas on Friday for Quilt Market, and all I can say is WOW. I came home on Saturday evening, and I can honestly say that while I was half asleep on the flight, there were patterns and colors swirling through my head the entire plane ride. It was color and pattern overload at this show! And I can't even begin to estimate how many quilts were in the building-- it was insane. I'd never been to Quilt Market before, and I definitely want to go back. I'm not a quilter, but I do love me some fabric.
My new fabric line, Preeti, was launching with Blend Fabrics (the new licensing division of Anna Griffin) at the show, so a few of my friends and I went to the show to join in the celebration.
It was exciting to see my fabric right on the front of the booth when we walked in-- see my name up there??
And all 3 colorways together:
If you want to carry the fabric in your shop, contact Blend-- they'll get you all set up!
My friend Sarah Watts has a collection with Blend, too, and it's adorable:
And so does my friend Jules Davis:

Her patterns are so cool, full of bugs and hidden animal shapes within the patterns!
And we had to take a photo in front of this block- colored wall, of course! This is Khristian (she had 2 lines launching with Anthology Fabrics at the show), Sarah, and Jules.
I'm glad to be home now, though-- that was my 5th trip away since mid-September, so I'm ready to stay put for a few weeks!
So beautiful.
That's all I can muster today.
Pretty. Like. Want.
