It doesn't snow in Portland very often (so I'm told... this is our first winter here), so it's an exciting morning!

Sometimes I miss my snowy Colorado winters growing up-- it never quite feels Christmas-y without snow falling. So this is very welcome today, as I'm ready to be fully in the Christmas spirit!

My studio  is in the upstairs part of our house, so I look out over the rooftops of our neighbors during the day. Here's my snowy view today:

Just a dusting, but it's something!

I love it! It might make my errand-running kinda slow and challenging this afternoon, but it's worth it.

Do you like the snow? What gets you into the holiday spirit?

I love snow during the holiday season too! Thanks for sharing the photos. It may be the closest I get to the real thing this year. :)

I live in Wisconsin and today is our first snowfall and my daughter couldn't wait to get outside...I joined her for a little while to try to build our first snowman - was nice to take a break all the sadness I've been feeling lately. We're supposed to get more by Thursday, and I work in a school, so we're really hoping for a snow day!

I was so glad we didn't miss the first snow of the year (we left the next day for Christmas in AZ)! This is our 2nd winter in the Portland area (we live in West Linn). I grew up in Colorado too (Loveland), and after many years in Arizona and California, I am so happy to have some snow again! But I'm also glad it doesn't stick around long enough to make driving too much of a pain...
