new painting: you-are-wild-and-free

Happy Monday! The weekends go by so quickly, don't they? Mine was filled with fun things like buying new art supplies, practicing yoga, going to the ballet, making soup, watching a movie and being cozy on a rainy Sunday, painting.... what about you? What did you do this weekend?

This painting  came to life on Friday-- I'm feeling so inspired by Flora Bowley's e-course that I'm taking right now, and I'm having fun discovering how it's going to mesh with my current painting style. I think it's going to make my work a bit looser and more spontaneous. Fun fun. I'm loving playing with color in new ways-- this painting uses a color combination that has never been my favorite -- red, blue, and yellow... the primary colors -- it's just never been a combo that's very pleasing to my eye. But I love how this one turned out! Who knew? Sometimes I surprise myself with color.

Also! Case-Mate is having a fab.com sale right now, and 6 of my cases are available! 3 of them have never been seen before-- they're Russian-inspired. Here are two:

Now's the time to grab 'em if you like them, because I don't think they're going to be available for sale anywhere else-- and we're refreshing the cases that I have available on the Case-Mate website for spring, so the other cases that are in the fab.com sale will be gone soon, too! You know I love color and think it's such an important part of being happy, and these cases will definitely add a splash of color to your life!

And one more thing:

Some of my Case-Mate cases are available at Nordstrom now, too! Dream come true, right? My partnership with Case-Mate gets better and better every day. I'm so grateful! The 4 cases that are available at Nordstrom are completely different than the others, too-- they have my paintings on them!

Here are 2 of them:

Fun, right? You can get them on the Nordstrom website. :)

I too am taking the same course with Flore - though im catching up on week one due to surgery, (all's ok) after reading your first post from her class and seeing your paintings, I got inspired to do some creative work on my own with doing a couple of small
paintings (you can see it on my blog) despite not knowing yet the classes exercises - but purposely took the class to stretch out of of a usual mold and to experiment, to grow - how much fun is that! Especially to use it as an added source of inspiration for
your surface pattern work and art - can't wait to see what you cook up next! I Especially enjoy the letting go and having no worries regarding the outcome of a particular painting....how freeing!

I love the Russian inspired cases! (feeling nostalgic for my childhood) Any chance these will be available for sale again soon?
