if you were a superhero...

...what would you look like? What would your super power be? My husband and I were talking about this the other day on a walk, and he said the power he would want is superhuman brain power! He'd like to be able to retain every piece of information that he reads and make his head like one big encyclopedia. That's definitely NOT the power that I would want! But it would definitely make him happy. His head is already like a sponge!

Superhero me definitely wears a cape and a braid. And lots of feathers. She rides on a buffalo-- did you know that buffaloes are a symbol for sacredness, abundance, and life? It's true. And superhero me is HOT and sexy. And she knows it, but not in an obnoxious way. I think she has a hula hoop also. I should draw the hoop and the buffalo into the drawing above, shouldn't I?

I think the power I would want super hero me to have would be to instantly transform negativity into positivity wherever she saw it. She could make it disappear with one gaze. Negative thoughts, negative actions... POOF! All of a sudden it's the opposite, supremely positive and joyful.

How wonderful would that be? The thing is, I can actually make that happen. Maybe not in the whole entire world, but definitely within myself. That's absolutely doable. Negativity, POOF! Positivity, breathe it in.

Now tell me about superhero YOU!

(And if they're awesome and inspiring, I just might start drawing some of them...!)

does having the power to grant wishes count as a superpower? if so, i would like that. also, invisibilty. for sure. i did think long and hard about being able to manipulate time, but that just seems so *messy* and probematic. (decisions are not my strong point, see.)

sidenote: i think i have been channelling your love of the hoolahoop. as it turns out i have recently discovered the hulahoop game on the wii fit+ we got, and it is so one of my fave.

she would need a wand & she would definitely have a horse and all animals would be able to read her thoughts, and she them. see? this is getting complicated now.

back to basics: she would wear kickass over the knee sleek flat black racer-like boots with a bit of a heel so she can still ride her horse. she might have some sort of cute skirt over leggings, and a plain jane t-shirt. She might wear cats eye sunglasses, and i can see her having an attitute like Elenor Ripley in the Alien series. and a long blonde ponytail.

who knew how fun pre 7am could be?!

The answer to the question is: Yes. You need both a hula hoop & a buffalo in that picture. Duh. :)

And I totally need to think about My Superhero! I have a feeling she'd give everyone automatic clarity in how they can follow their dreams. Maybe not how to get to The Answer, but definitely the feeling that they can do it. So, she'd give everyone the belief: Yes I Can - & I Will! She'd also always have hair that was slightly curled & full of body, even in rainy/humid weather. And her high heels are as comfy as her flats. And she wears very bright colors & sings at times.

This is a very awesome, odd superhero.

My former mother-in-law used to say that she could "hold a baby, smoke a cigarette and eat a rib at the same time". So I guess she got her super-hero powers early. :)

I think I'd have the power to heal people and maybe have one of those Star Trek thingies that would enable me to conjure up any food I wanted whenever I wanted, which would also not make me fat.

Ooh, I love this! My superhero is a cheerleader. She carries pom-poms, markers and a megaphone. She does her best work wearing yoga pants and a (buffalo!!!) tshirt. She travels far and wide at lightning speed via the World Wide Web and she inspires people everywhere she goes with her creativity, words and spirit. You can find her in places where women gather seeking motivation and inspiration. She's often overheard encouraging people to get fired up and follow their bliss!

Thanks for the positive punch Jess! LOVE this idea!!!!

My super hero power would be to clean up pollution with only a wink. :) I would wear a super comfy organic cotton dress. I would accept hugs as payment from the people and animals whose homes I helped clean up. :)

I have a friend who said his super power would be to hold open doors for people, no matter what distance he is from them or the door. Probably the strangest super power I have ever heard.

LOVE this concept! I actually had a superhero-themed 30-th birthday party where people were encouraged to dress as the superhero version of themselves! Link here:http://bit.ly/bMbtIq

My superhero is Fanny Fantastic and my superpower is that I help rid the world of negative energy. I wear a cape and purple boots (check the link above for me in my real-life outfit). Oh, and my weapon of choice is a bubble gun. I shoot bubbles at my enemies until I can bring them around. Naomi Campbell is my archnemesis. And, yes, I have thought an awful lot about this :)
