This is a print of painting #47 from my ‘100 Messages To Myself‘ painting series.
Some days I glide, some days I resist. Some days I do a bit of both at the same time, in different areas. I guess another way to say it might be to go with the flow instead of fighting to go upstream. The flow for me right now, work-wise anyway, seems to be leading me to let go of some things and to embrace the unknown in new ways… which feels scary. But I’m reminding myself that every time I trust my intuition and glide forward instead of resisting, the results are good, even if I can’t see where exactly I’m going for a little while. I always learn something and I always grow somehow. And that’s good, I think! (Here‘s the full message I wrote when I painted it.)
My life changed dramatically in August 2018 when my husband suddenly died and then again in January 2019 when my baby girl was born. It’s been a strange 15 months! Creating nearly daily art has been one of the main ways I’ve tuned in to my feelings and to myself as I’ve moved forward. Sharing the art that I’ve been making and the messages I’ve been giving to myself has been a powerfully healing part of my journey, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to share my images and thoughts with you.
